Every year the delta lands in Northern Botswana are fed by floodwaters coming down from Angola. The slowly seeping water gives life to dormant plants and fills the rivers where hippos wallow and crocodiles lie in wait for antelope and zebra to drink along the banks. The plains game keep a watchful eye for lion, who are the top predator in this enormous ecosystem. Our Wings Safari combines the varied landscapes of the 6800 square mile Okavango Delta and the drier Linyanti region, known for its high concentrations of elephants. Begin your journey at Victoria Falls, and stand in the spray of one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Your accomodations are in intimate and comfortable bush camps, hidden away in these remarkable regions for an incredible Botswana safari.

For a small taste of a travelers life in the Okavango - morning coffee on your private veranda, a peaceful mokoro canoe safari and toasting the day with a sundowner in the bush - watch the video below on a "Day in the Delta."

DAYS 1-2 :  LIVINGSTONE, ZAMBIA
Arrive into Livingstone Airport where you'll be met after passing through customs. Your first nights in Africa are spent at Toka Leya, situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Enjoy the beautiful pool under the trees or relax in the comfort of the stylish lounge. Each room is set on stilts and is elegantly constructed of wood and canvas along an elevated walkway.  Included during your stay is a trip to Victoria Falls, sundown cruises on the Zambezi River, village/school visits and fishing trips for the fierce Tiger Fish.  Two nights at Toka Leya. (Read the latest camp news here) [D on day 1, BLD on Day 2]

In the dry Linyanti area animals congregate at watering holes where they can be observed them from carefully constructed hides.
DAYS 3-4 :  THE LINYANTI WILDLIFE RESERVE
Depart Victoria Falls this morning for the road transfer across the border and into Botswana. In Kasane you will board the light aircraft flight to the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. Elephants are one of the prime attractions  in this area. During the winter months of June - August, the elephants are forced to congregate along the waterways and around waterholes by the hundreds. Game drives and boat trips reveal red lechwe, zebra, wildebeest, and giraffe, as well as predators such as lion, cheetah, hyena and rare wild dog. Because you are in a private reserve, there are opportunities for night drives in search of nocturnal creatures such as bushbabies and the elusive aardwolf. Your camp is Savuti, a seven room tented camp built on raised boardwalks on the edge of a grassy pan and overlooking busy waterhole. Enjoy the sounds of the African night from the comfort of your spacious canvas room. In addition to the en suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, each room also has an outside shower. A dry wood hide nest to the water offers unique viewing and photographic opportunities. Two nights in Savuti (Classic) or King's Pool (Luxury). Set out by mokoro or boat to watch the elephants crossing between islands in the delta.
DAYS 5-6 :  THE OKAVANGO DELTA
After breakfast this morning you will fly from the Linyanti region to the heart of the Okavango Delta. Situated in a private reserve adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve on the Jao flats, Jacana Camp is a truly aquatic camp and offers mokoros and walking safaris all year round. The camp is in one of the most densely populated wetland areas for Sitatunga and Red Lechwe antelope. Other game sightings regularly include elephant, lion, hyena and buffalo. Pels Fishing Owl is a favorite sighting amongst birders, as well as greater and lesser Jacanas and a variety of Kingfishers. Jacana Camp accommodates only ten guests in five Meru-style tents, each built on a wooden deck overlooking the flooded plains. Each en suite bathroom is enclosed, but roofless, allowing for showers under the stars. The main dining area is on an elevated wooden deck between two magnificent sycamore fig trees and surrounded by dense wild date palms. Overnight two nights at Jacana Camp (Classic) or Jao Camp (Luxury). (Read the latest camp news for Jacana and Jao) [BLD]

Game drives in open safari vehicles offer excellent photographic opportunities.
DAYS 7-9 :  THE OKAVANGO DELTA
A scenic flight over the Delta this morning takes you to Chitabe Camp. Chitabe is on a large island in the heart of the Delta where a wide variety of wildlife is seen on day and night game drives. Some of the game found here are elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and cheetah, as well as a pack of wild dog who regularly den near the Camp. Night drives give rewarding opportunities to see pangolin, civet, genet, porcupine and caracal. The eight roomed tented camp is built on one of the most beautiful islands in the Okavango Delta, a private area that is bordered on three sides by the Moremi Game Reserve. Accommodation is in spacious tents built on elevated wooden decks beneath the lush tree canopy. The thatched dining area, lounge and pub are also raised on decks overlooking the surrounding flood plains. A pool allows you to cool off from the heat of the day. Shorter nature walks are also offered. Overnight three nights at Chitabe Camp (Classic), Little Vumbura (Luxury), or Mombo (Luxury).
