Our active Nicaragua Family Vacation takes you off the beaten path to reveal the natural beauty, friendly people and colonial charm that is Nicaragua’s heart and soul. Accompanied by our naturalist guide, your family sets out to explore the picturesque Spanish colonial city of Granada by horse-drawn carriage, treks through rainforests amongst hundreds of tropical birds, flies through the rainforest canopy by zip line and hikes amongst the Mombacho and Masaya Volcanoes. You open your children’s eyes to other cultures when we visit a community kitchen to help prepare a meal for the local kids and when we stop off at the small school to spend some time with the teachers and students. The perfect ending to our Nicaragua adventure vacation is a stay at the luxurious Morgan’s Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge, a stunning location that overlooks a sheltered, crescent-shaped white-sand bay on the stunning Pacific Ocean. On this itinerary, each day is planned to accommodate the interests and abilities of all travelers, no matter their age.
We loved climbing the different aged volcanoes and learning of Nicaragua’s geology, flora and fauna. Biking through Granada was a great way to experience all of the city, and our sunset boat trip to the Nature Reserve was magical. I think our family would agree, that the best part of our trip was our guide, Julio Flores. We consider him a friend.
