Join India program director, Laura Finkelstein, and her son, Benjamin, on this escorted adventure in southern India.
Southern India is welcoming for families with children of all ages – here you can search for wild elephants in the wilderness, ride bikes on quiet village roads, and stand at the feet, literally, of a giant statue of a Jain Divinity. Our route takes us to coffee and spice plantations, to the most beautiful palace in India at Mysore and to elaborately-carved Hindu temples. Explore the vibrant cities of Mumbai and Kochi, watch local dances and try your hand at a southern Indian martial art. Venture by boat and jeep through Nagarhole National Park, famous for protecting large herds of wild elephant. Learn cricket and kick a soccer ball around with local children. Finish the journey cruising on a boat past village life along the tropical backwaters of Malabar and building sand castles on a beach on the Arabian Sea. Kids will enjoy the ever-changing show that life in India is. Along with the rivers, the beach, animal safaris, and learning to play cricket, the game enjoyed by children across all of India. Palaces and temples and local dances will fascinate adults and children alike.
