Arrive at Kruger Mpumalanga Airport (MQP) this morning and depart with your guide and driver for the private Thornybush Game Reserve which forms part of the 2.2 million hectare Greater Kruger National Park. Spend two full days with your ranger and a Shangaan tracker in search of the Big Five (elephant, leopard, lion, buffalo and rhino) as well the elusive wild dog, and a wide variety of antelope. Game drives are in open vehicles allowing unobstructed views of wildlife and walking safaris allow you to track animals and learn about the smaller inhabitants of this ecosystem. Afternoon game drives often stretch into evenings where spotlights offer chances to catch a glimpse of nocturnal species such as genets and porcupines.
Serondella’s small size allows the camp hosts to be intimately involved with guests. Surprise bush breakfasts and sunset dinners at the lodge’s game viewing hides are de rigeur, as well as an incredible insight to life in this area of South Africa. At night retire to comfortable, stylish rooms and personal attention from the local staff. Evenings are a special time in the bush, often spent with a drink in hand watching elephants at the watering hole and the sunset over the vast wilderness. Overnight for three nights at Serondella Lodge within the Thorneybush Game Reserve.
Note: Arrival flight into Kruger Mpumalanga Airport (MQP) is not included and must be purchased either through Wildland Adventures or on own. Typically travelers arrive into MQP from Johannesburg (JNB) or Cape Town (CPT) on scheduled South African Airways flights. We'll be happy to offer assistance in booking this internal flight.
Upgrade Option: Tanda Tula Camp in the Timbavati Reserve bordering Kruger National Park for an additional $600 per person.
