Adventure Vacations from the Experts

Wildland Adventures was founded on the principle that culturally and environmentally responsible travel can be a powerful force for change. Tourism should contribute to conservation and benefit local communities. The Travelers Conservation Trust (TCT) was founded in 1986 by Kurt Kutay as a non-profit, affiliate organization of Wildland Adventures to foster means by which our travelers can support local conservation initiatives and small-scale community development projects. By forming and strengthening links between environmentally conscientious travelers and host-country grassroots conservation groups, together we can preserve natural areas and cultural heritage. This link between adventure travel, conservation and sustainable development enhances your vacation experience by creating more meaningful and authentic cultural encounters through learning, sharing and giving something back.

“Wildland Adventures has become the most important collaborator with the Neotropica Foundation in your category (foreign tourism company). This is very gratifying for us, and I think for you too. It only confirms your concern for preserving the tropical forests. Thank you very much!!!”

“Your contributions have been used in a very grassroots fashion. For example, recently your donations paid the grocery bills of Mr. Thomas Green, a 92-year-old healer and dory maker who lives on the Macal River. Without your support, Mr. Green would be a lonely, hungry forgotten old man. Also, we helped Miss Juana Shish repair the thatch roof on her house which has kept her family dry and warm. R. Romero was given funds to put steps on his new house after his pregnant wife fell. We are all in awe of the generosity of Wildland Adventures and its travelers who remember us year after year. Many of the healers cannot write or read, but they send their deepest and heartfelt thanks and gratitude to you all.”
