Your team breaks camp this morning and you’ll take a leisurely game drive about 3 hours to your next campsite near the Khwai River in the Moremi Game Reserve. The Khwai River, which has changed its course many times, has created a wide range of exciting wildlife habitats including forests, floodplain, wetland and grasslands. Because these habitats are all in the same area the Khwai is one of the best game viewing areas in all of Botswana. The narrow Khwai Channel is home to large mammals such as hippo and crocodile with buffalo and red lechwe often seen grazing along the fringe. Plains game including several species of antelope, giraffe, and wildebeest are often seen here. The beautiful gallery riverine woodland found along the river provides further sanctuary to birds, primates and leopard. Elusive roan antelope often come to the river to drink.
