Refugio Amazonas

Located in a 200-hectare private reserve within the buffer zone of the Tambopata Nature Reserve, Refugio Amazonas is a 32-bedroom jungle lodge designed for nature enthusiasts, families, and adventurers who seek to immerse themselves in tropical nature. Rustic accommodations are constructed in the authentic Esa-Eja décor of the indigenous inhabitants, making use of palm thatch and native bamboo materials with an open verandah to the rainforest environment. Double and triple rooms are clustered in multiplex buildings, each with private bath hot and cold water, a hammock or lounge chair, and mosquito net-draped beds. A few suites are available to upgrade on request. Guests gather at the end of the day in an open-air bar featuring unusual tropical cocktails and a common dining area featuring a buffet of fresh jungle cuisine. Surrounded by towering Brazil nut trees, the lodge offers miles of hiking trails, jungle biking, access to a wildlife-rich oxbow lake, a canopy tower and rustic spa.
