Travel to Peru and discover its magnificent people, culture and customs from the days of pre-Inca to today, as well as the diverse geographical regions of the Andes Mountains, Amazon Rainforest and the Pacific coastal desert. The possibilities for personal discovery and adventure are limitless on a Wildland Adventure to Peru. Embark on a four-day trek on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the most important and impressive archeological monument in South America. In a land filled with ancient Inca ruins, large and small, our local guides will bridge the gap of history by explaining how their spiritual practices and rituals, how they constructed their homes, and what daily life was like. Returning to the present day, you’ll connect with locals by visiting indigenous rural villages, including lunch at a family home located high in the mountains.

And when it comes to discovering Peru’s astounding natural world, you’ll explore the Amazon rainforest by paddling winding lakes in small canoes, hiking through lush jungle and ascending into the canopy to spot a macaw lick (the gathering place of hundreds of parrots). When traveling through the Amazon, our naturalist guides will be on the lookout for the diverse wildlife including tapirs, giant river otters, monkeys, black caimans, tayras, agoutis, macaws, parrots, toucans and waterfowl (with luck, we might even see a jaguar, ocelot or puma!). We have more than 20 years of experience leading Peru tours and offer a range of flexible itineraries, excellent accommodations and the best in English-speaking local Peruvian guides. Choose one of our regular Peru group departures, or let us customize a trip just for you.
