Villa Bahia

This beautiful boutique hotel, located right along the lively and historic Pelourinho District, has been lovingly converted from two colonial mansions dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. The hotel has been designed to evoke important landmarks in Bahia’s history, dating back to the Portuguese explorers, their trade exchanges with Africa and Asia and their maritime routes, which were all closely tied to the spice trade. 17 unique rooms invoke the very origins of Bahia and have been named after important trade routes. All are spacious and colorful and each has been individually designed, with no two alike. Native wood furnishings and regional crafts and works of art enhance the local character of the rooms. The hotel also has a gourmet restaurant specializing in French-Brazilian fusion cuisine, a shady roof terrace, patio, a small plunge pool, and relaxing living areas with deep couches and antique armchairs, to create a warm colonial atmosphere.
