Bushman's Kloof

Located a 3 hour drive from Cape Town, this ecological oasis is a sanctuary to many endangered species of fauna and flora and home to over 130 San Bushman rock art sites. Bushmans Kloof is recognised as one of South Africa's Natural Heritage Sites. Wide-open plains, ravines, waterfalls and prehistoric rock formations characterize this ecological oasis where five different botanical communities live in harmony. For many generations the San (Bushman) lived in this area, and today over 130 remarkable rock art sites testify to their lives. Game drives, guided rock art tours, river walks and swimming in crystal clear rock pools are all part of the experience. Bontebok, Burchell's Zebra, Cape Mountain Zebra, Eland, Red Hartebeest, Black Wildebeest, Klipspringer, Springbok, Steenbok and many other small mammals are found within the reserve.
