Turkey: A Crossroads of Civilizations
March 27, 2010
10:00am - The Savvy Traveler, Edmonds, WA

Wildland Adventures takes you from the modern age and into the ancient past discovering authentic travel opportunities in Turkey on routes used by ancient silk and spice traders between Europe and the Far East. Turkey was a land coveted by many conquerors, each successive empire leaving its mark on the culture, folklore and way of life of today's Turkish people. While twenty-first century Turkey has become a modern, secular and western-oriented republic, the grandeur of Asia Minor predominates over contemporary influences, especially outside the sphere of the hustle and bustle of resorts and hotels. Kurt Kutay, President of Wildland Adventures and of Turkish heritage himself, shares ideas and itineraries for small groups and private trips for individuals and families he can arrange to classic ruins and villages in the hinterlands where you experience the living history of Turkey surviving through old customs, gracious hospitality and exquisite cuisine. Discover why Turkey continues to rate among the best travel experiences by veteran travelers.
