Begin the day hiking beneath snow-capped alpine peaks and finish by dipping a toe in the turquoise Adriatic while raising a glass of a local wine you picked up along the way. Welcome to Slovenia and the Balkans. Here you'll find the Europe you thought had passed - undisturbed emerald hills, thick forests, deep caves systems, magnificent lakes and of course friendly locals, fiercely proud of their traditions and heritage and happy to share their history and stories with inquisitive travelers. Wildland Adventure's Balkan specialists Kirsten Gardner and Tad Bradley share their recent travel experiences to this undiscovered corner of Europe. Learn how you can easily combine a trip to Italy or Austria with a visit to the Balkans. Tad and Kirsten will share their favorite lodges, hikes, meals and magical, off-the-beaten track Balkan moments.
