Gorilla Viewing Update

By Phil Ward, Field Manager

We are now accepting reservations to secure permits to see a third family of gorillas at Bwindi, Uganda as far as two years in advance. Each of the three habituated families, Mubare, Habinyanja and Rushegura, can received just six visitors a day. Trekking permits during the high season are already selling out in July, August, and September 2005! (We are holding limited remaining permits for high season dates in 2004.) Our preferred accommodation, the Gorilla Forest Camp, fills quickly with only 8 rooms. Although we recommend the complete 11-day Uganda Gorilla Safari, travelers interested in a shorter gorilla trekking extension from Kenya or Tanzania can now consider Rwanda via easy flights from Nairobi to Kigali. Call us for details at 1 (800) 345-4453.
