Knowledge is Security: Report from Turkey

By Alper Ertubey, Haydar Haykir and Melhika Seval

The government of Turkey, and the vast majority of Turkish people, have very close relations with the United States and American people.

Since 2001 I have guided many groups of Americans and other nationalities and for none of these groups did we have anything special in terms of security, change of itinerary or whatever else, other than helping them find a TV with BBC or CNN broadcast so they could watch the U.S. election through the eyes of the US and Brit media.

Turkey is a wonderful safe destination. I wish the Americans would realize that the joy of traveling should not be restricted with fear. If they do get overruled by fear, the ists will find that they have achieved their goal.
