New Machu Picchu Sanctuary Hotel
Once known as the Machu Picchu Tourista Hotel, later as the Ruinas Hotel, the inn on the top of the mountain located a few steps away from the entrance to the ruins has a new name and owner. The Machu Picchu Sanctuary Hotel is now owned by the Orient Express company and is under substantial renovation. They also own the lovely Hotel Monasterio in Cusco. Prices are expected to rise 2-3 fold once renovations are completed. The Hotel Pueblo at the base of the mountain in Aguas Calientes has been an excellent alternative.
