Family Adventure Programs at Wildland
On a Wildland Family Adventure, its about personal experience. Walk with elephants in Botswana, learn the secrets of survival with Maasai warriors near the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, deliver school supplies to children in the mountains of Panama or share stories, music and laughter over dinner in the home of a Turkish family. Parents, teens and younger children share the joy of discovery and reconnect as a family. These deeply personal experiences are what set a Wildland Family Adventure apart.

Management, our Destination Program Directors and our Family Program specialist, Anne Gillis, are continually working toward offering trips that meet the needs of parents and children of all ages, in part by designing trips with specific age ranges in mind.
Our Costa Rica program now includes Families in the Rain Forest and the Costa Rica Family Vacation itineraries, each ideal for families with young children, as both itineraries include easy beach time and a relaxed pace while exploring the forests. Look to the Natural Wonders Family Tour and the Monteverde Family Adventure for a wonderful variety of activities and adventure for older children who love to be busy, yet havent quite reached the teen years. The Multisport Family Adventure was designed specifically for families with teenagers by combining active and challenging adventures for the entire family with flexibility and some independence for teens Raft Class III & IV white water, swing through the rain forest on a zipline canopy tour, snorkel off a secluded island, soak in the local rhythms and indulge in native cuisine. Jungle hikes, surfing lessons and horseback riding on a Pacific beach create opportunities for precious time together.
The Galapagos Islands are an awe-inspiring place where young people can observe wildlife up close, swim with cavorting sea lions, and snorkel amongst marine iguanas and sea turtles, while learning about evolution by first-hand observation. Bring kids, parents and grandparents together on the Galapagos Family Wildlife Odyssey, showcasing the fascinating flora and fauna that inhabit this volcanic archipelago such as giant tortoise, sea lizards and Blue-footed boobies.
In Belize, active families with teens take part in an array of adventurous activities including rappelling, caving and snorkeling the reef on the Belize Beach and Active Adventure. A remarkable high point in a young persons life can be found in the jungles of Uganda. Gorilla trekking on the Uganda Gorilla Safari offers a wildlife encounter unlike any in the world.
