Teen Family Adventures Reconnect Parents and Teens
Throughout the challenges of the teenage years we know that family travel experiences provide the perfect opportunity for parents and teens to re-connect. Combining our experience in creating authentic and personal travel adventures worldwide with years of first-hand experience traveling with growing children, we have expanded our Wildland Family Adventures program to offer journeys created expressly for families with teenagers.
Each adventure is crafted to provide an active and adventurous escape from the stresses and routines of home by creating a chance for family members to grow closer as they share new experiences full of conversation, laughter, and a new appreciation for how other cultures live. Our new Wildland Teen Family Adventures emphasize flexibility and independence as well as activities parents and kids can experience for the first time together. These adventures lead to mutual discovery, new skills, sources of strength and confidence in stepping outside a comfort zone. Our indigenous guides include nomadic Maasai warriors and members of other traditional cultures, who relate well to teenagers. They share their native ways by demonstrating new perspectives on family, living lightly on the Earth and surviving with limited resources.
Ask for our detailed trip planning questionnaire that solicits input from all family members, helping to promote greater understanding and a mutual interest in creating a memorable vacation for the whole family. Wildland Adventures' scheduled small group family departures or private custom itineraries take teens and their parents to Belize, Panama, Peru, Galapagos Islands, New Zealand, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Botswana and Turkey. Highlights include cave exploration, gorilla trekking, sharing a meal with a native family, hunting with Bushmen, walking with elephants, kayaking, glacier hiking, camping, climbing sand dunes, traditional native music and dance, snorkeling and SCUBA diving, surfing lessons, and even an occasional day for sleeping in.
Our Seattle-based staff helps your family plan the best itinerary, then local guides facilitate daily transportation arrangements, schedule of activities, accommodations, and other details leading to hassle free travel.
