Newly Opened Tree Top Suites at Chaa Creek
Cayo District, Belize - The Lodge at Chaa Creek, a world-class eco-resort located in the western Cayo District of Belize, is proud to announce the opening of its two new enchanting accommodations, the Tree Top Suites. These thatched penthouses appear to defy gravity as they perch eye level amongst the upper most branches of the majestic hardwoods that surround them along the steep forested banks of the Macal River. The large and airy suites combine elegance with a unique sense of adventurous design as tall tree trunks pierce through encircling sundecks competing for a breathtaking view of the jungle landscape.
"Suspending the suites on 40' pilings without disturbing the environment was both challenging and rewarding. They actually appear to be very much at one with their surroundings and have surpassed our expectations in their innovative style," says Chaa Creek owner, Mick Fleming.
The full amenity one-bedroom suites have been designed using local hardwoods, and are decorated with hand woven tapestries produced by Mayan artisans. Private Jacuzzis on stargazing verandas create the perfect romantic atmosphere for the honeymoon couple. "The honeymoon suite was extraordinary! The nicest, most comfortable room we have ever been in. Absolutely beautiful!" said newly married guests, Jim and Cheri Glockner.
The accommodations are also suitable for family groups with comfortable sleeping arrangements for four. These unique facilities, under an enormous canopy of thatch extend an extraordinary experience to nature lovers who want to take part in the many rainforest activities that award-winning Chaa Creek has to offer.
The Lodge at Chaa Creek with its Adventure Centre, Rainforest Reserve and Spa has pioneered natural history travel to Belize since 1981 and is one of Belize's premier destinations for a wide range of Caribbean and Central American adventures. The 330 acre private nature reserve on the Macal River hosts an internationally recognized Natural History Centre, Butterfly Farm, miles of trails for walking, birding, mountain biking and horse back riding, a fleet of canoes, exquisite spa, conference centre, adventure tours and access to Belize's richest Maya archeological sites.
