Style in Peru
The possibilities for personal discovery and adventure are
limitless on a Wildland Adventure in Peru and Bolivia. If
this is your first time in this area, you will undoubtedly
want to visit the ancient Inca capital of Cusco, then continue
to the world-famous citadel of Machu Picchu, either by rail
or by foot, via the famous Inca Trail. Compliment your Andes
adventure with a visit to Manu
or Tambopata - Candamo Reserves, in the ecologically-rich
Amazon rain forest of southern Peru. Expand your experience
with an additional overnight in the Sacred Valley of the
Incas, perhaps a rafting or mountain biking excursion, and
visiting world-renowned museums in Lima. Extensions are available
for exploring the Colca Canyon (the deepest rift in the world),
the enigmatic archaeological sites of Nazca or Sipan on the
coast, or journey south from Cusco to gorgeous Lake Titicaca
and return home from La Paz, Bolivia.
Machu
Picchu
Machu Picchu is the most important and impressive archaeological
monument in South America. We know it will be the unforgettable
highlight of your trip. We design our itineraries to include
an overnight near Machu Picchu, giving you plenty of time to
photograph, explore and contemplate this sacred site. We reserve
the charming Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel, or you can upgrade
to the Sanctuary Inn Lodge, next to the site.

Spectacular Andean Trekking
We offer a variety of spectacular small-group treks that follow
the vast network of Inca roads and trails crisscrossing the
Andes. Our frequent departures include our 4-day Inca Trail
Trek to Machu Picchu, as well as longer expeditions, such as
the Machu Picchu Vilcabamba Trek, exciting loop trips around
Mt. Ausangate or Mt. Salcantay, or the Cordillera Blanca Trek
in northern Peru. In Bolivia, we offer trips to Lake Titikaka
and Island of the Sun, the Cordillera Real Llama Trek, the
Takesi and Choro Trail treks, and trips to the Uyuni Salt Flats
or the Madidi rain forest region. All our treks are full service
operations, with experienced guides, cooks, and porters, and
excellent meals. You carry only your day pack with camera,
jacket, lunch, and water, and simply enjoy!
The Real Amazon
If you have only one chance to visit the Amazon and you want
to see wildlife and learn about rain forest ecology, the remote
rain forests of southeast Peru and Bolivia should be your first
and only consideration. The protected rain forests of Manu
National Park and Tambopata-Candamo Reserve in Peru, and the
Alto Madidi and Noel Kempff Mercado National Parks of Bolivia
are some of the most pristine natural regions on Earth with
the highest levels of species diversity of rain forest mammals,
birds, and reptiles in the entire Amazon. Our trips into these
rain forests cannot to be compared with other regions of the
Amazon, such Iquitos, Peru or Manaus, Brazil where traditional
native culture has adapted to western development and wildlife
habitat suffers from poor soils, commercial exploitation, human
settlement and hunting.
Whether you prefer the comfort of a rain forest ecolodge
or camping in the wilds, we offer you several routes and
itineraries into Manu and
Tambopata accompanied by specialist Amazon guides. You
explore in small paddle canoes on oxbow lakes, hike through
luxuriant rain forests, ascend into the rain forest canopy,
and have opportunities to visit a macaw lick where hundreds
of parrots congregate. Our carefully designed itineraries
offer the best opportunities for observing tapirs, giant
river otters, monkeys, black caimans, tayras and agoutis,
and with luck possibly even a jaguar, ocelot or puma. You
can also search for more than 1,000 bird species, including
the highest concentrations in the world of macaws and parrots,
as well as toucans, waterfowl, and exotic songbirds.
