other sites. It is possible to fly into Bolivia and depart
for home on a flight from Peru.
CHALALÁN AND MADIDI NATIONAL PARK

undeveloped rainforests of Bolivia’s Madidi National
Park.
Traversing from the high Andes to the Amazon basin, this
jungle adventure covers a vast array

tropical ecosystems from cloud forest to dry tropical forest,
humid
lowland rainforest to savannah, wild rivers to lakes.
Ancient
geological and glacial processes have molded the spectacular
landscape of rugged mountains and steep river
gorges.
The Chalalan Ecolodge is a comfortable refuge surrounded
by pristine Amazon wilderness. Originally a joint eco-tourism
project between the native community of San Jose de Uchupiamonas
and Conservation International, the lodge is now owned and
operated entirely by the indigenous Quechua-Tacana ethnic
group. Local, bi-lingual native guides introduce you to the
1,000 species of birds and help you to discover the wide
variety of mammals and neotropical amphibians that abound
in this region.

Amazon and flooded savannas similar to the famous Pantanal
region
of Brazil.

historic silver mines of Potosí, the white-washed
colonial city of Sucre, and explore the surreal landscape

while traveling overland in the remote salt flats of
Uyuni.
LAKE TITICACA AND ISLAND OF THE SUN

Travel
from La Paz, the world’s
highest capital city, across the altiplano to the ancient
pre-Inca site of Tiwanaku, then on to Lake Titicaca
and the Isla del Sol (Island of the Sun). Hike along
Inca terraces as you explore ancient archaeological
sites and view gorgeous vistas of the lake and snow
capped cordillera in the distance. Return to La Paz
or continue into Peru to further extend your trip.
