Adventure Vacations from the Experts

Working directly with specialized regional guides and outfitters we have designed our New Zealand program to reveal its unique nature and charismatic culture. You become engaged in an authentic nature and culture experience markedly distinguished from the more everyday tours and adrenaline adventure trips. Small groups and a high guide-to-guest ratio assure personalized attention and a more intimate interaction with the environment and people of New Zealand.

This active luxury adventure is a comprehensive, in-depth experience of the highest standard for anyone of good health and able body. Over days 1-9 we hike two to four miles daily, our warm up for days 10-12 on the Routeburn Track. We picked this 25 mile, 3-day track instead of the Milford track because the Routeburn is shorter, has fewer crowds, and is higher elevation offering better weather conditions and clearer mountain views ("Routeburn versus Milford Track comparison"). There will also be plenty of time to relax and enjoy optional activities and excursions. Meals highlight local cuisine served by our hosts, enjoyed in restaurants, or prepared by our guide on several picnic lunches. Accommodations are the best available in keeping with the unique character of these special areas such as charming bed and breakfast inns, boutique lodges, unique hotels and comfortable mountain huts with hot showers.
