Adventure Vacations from the Experts

"It's our last night. Everyone's smiling and a little sad at the same time. I'm more stunned than anything. For once, a trip has lived up to expectations, even surpassed them. I may not have caught any fish, but I'm taking home the bragging rights to a near-impossible score-the perfect family vacation."

~ E. Ogintz, Syndicated Travel Writer, "Taking the Kids"
Alaska Family Explorer

"I really enjoyed seeing the humpback and orca whales! I thought they were so neat and we even got to see an orca jump out of the water! Kayaking near the glaciers was also great because you really got a feeling of how immensely huge they are! I want to go fishing again because the salmon & trout we caught were so delicious!"

"The Alaska Explorer was excellent. Our guide, Kylie Watkins, was helpful, encouraging and always prepared for changes in plans. The best part of the trip was the time on the M/V Babkin with Brad von Wichman and his wife Kjirsti. It was tremendously interesting to be out on Prince William Sound and to be able to actually kayak and get off the boat to explore, fish, hike, whatever. We had good meals on the boat and in Kantishna. The weather was drizzly almost throughout, but we were prepared by the information you had sent ahead of time and we stayed dry. I would definitely recommend Wildland Adventures to friends. I feel sorry for those people who go on the Princess and Holland American tours. They don't know what they are missing. I think the trip is well planned as it is good to have a day in Anchorage in between Denali and Prince William Sound to mail postcards, buy gifts, go to the museums, etc. Thanks again. It was great!"

"Wildland Adventures guide Kylie Watkings was enthusiastic, knowledgable, tireless and especially with our three grandchildren, she gave her all. This was a memorable trip. Wildland's planning, Kylies implementation, astonishing sights and the ability to learn and feel the unique qualities of Alaska and its special people."

"Our cruise was led by Brad Von Wichman and Alex Davis. Their depth of knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for Alaska made our trip memorable. Meals aboard the M/V Alexandra were truly gourmet, Alex did a superb job."

"I would tell other kids to try rafting and kayaking, and that this is really fun and might be a once in a lifetime experience."

"We enjoyed Prince William Sound the most. We liked the freedom of planning our own activities. Our guide was excellent. Wildland Adventures clearly chose the best lodges for our family."

"Alaska is great! You'll see lots of wildlife. The best part was seeing the humpback whale up close, meeting the sled dogs and riding Stanley the pony in Denali. I hope you have a nice family on the trip with you like we did."
