Itinerary Extensions
From
the Desert Castles of Jordan to the Great
Pyramids of Egypt, we can customize
a trip extension to suit your preference.
Desert camping, the Egyptian Museum and
nature hikes are some of the varied options
that await travelers to this part of the
world. The Red Sea, where coral reefs and
brilliantly-colored sea creatures thrive,
provides a delightful snorkeling or diving
experience. The following are examples
of what we can do:

Cairo Highlights
For
those who want to view ancient Egypt but
don’t have
time for a Nile Cruise, this 4-day/3-night
tour includes two full days of privately
guided tours to visit main sites in the
Cairo area: Giza Pyramids, Memphis, Sakkara,
Egyptian Museum and city tour. See our “Great
Sites of Egypt” itinerary, Days 2-3,
for more details.
Red Sea Resorts
Enjoy
a few days in one of the resort towns of
Sharm El Sheik (on
the peninsula) or Hurghada (mainland).
A virtual paradise for divers and snorkelers,
the Red Sea is a treasure trove of coral
reefs, shipwrecks and exotic tropical fish.
St. Catherine’s Monastery and Mount
Sinai
Built in the 6th century,
St. Catherine’s
Monastery contains the Chapel of the Burning
Bush, Mosaic of the Transfiguration of
Christ, and a library of early Christian
manuscripts. Beyond the monastery a well-worn
rock staircase of 3750 steps lead to the
summit of Mount Sinai. It is best to climb
at sunrise or late afternoon to avoid the
heat of the day and enjoy the changing
light and colors of the desert landscape. |
