Egypt. Great Sites of Egypt Cruise

Your first three days in Egypt are spent exploring the secrets of this ancient land, visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza (the largest and most renowned of the 80 pyramid complexes in Egypt), the Sphinx and the impressive tombs and temples of Memphis (once the capital of the ancient kingdom). A visit to the Egyptian Museum introduces you to 4,000 years of human history and then you’re off to wander the spice- and silk-filled stalls at the Khan el-Khalili Bazar (Africa’s largest market). Overnights at the Pyramisa Hotel

After a short early morning flight to Luxor and a visit to the temple complex of Karnak and the Luxor Temple, board your luxury boat for a four-night cruise on the Nile. Sail port to port, stopping at a number of Egypt’s most fascinating sites. In Esna, you explore The Valley of the Kinds and Queens, impressive tombs (including that of King Tut) that have walls decorated with texts from the Book of the Dead. And in Aswan, stop at the Temple of Horus at Edfu (a temple completed by Cleopatra’s father 200 years after construction began), the Unfinished Obelisk and the Philae Temple (a structure that was dismantled and moved and reassembled on a nearby island).
