Begin your new life together on a voyage through the Galapagos Islands. Discover the capital city of Quito, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before casting away aboard a deluxe yacht in this remote island archipelago. Hike, snorkel, and explore by day, then enjoy fine dining, wine and evening lectures by your on-board master naturalist. Then escape to a romantic getaway high in the Andes to the colorful village of Banos where you may relax style tucked away in a hill side retreat. Spend the days hiking to waterfalls, head out mountain biking or simply relax and enjoy luxury spa services.
DAY 1 : QUITO Airport reception in Quito and transfer to Hacienda Rumiloma, a charming, romantic hacienda rustic luxury on the flank of the Volcano Pichincha overlooking the city. [Meals on your own]
DAY 2 : QUITO Enjoy a private city tour of colonial Quito, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Beginning in the new "Amazonas" district you will pass by the American Embassy, House of Culture, and the Legislative Palace where stone murals record the country's history. The old colonial center includes the bustling Independence Plaza, the narrow street of La Ronda, the dazzling gold-leafed altars of La Compania Church, and the gorgeous San Francisco cathedral. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and prepare for your Galapagos Wildlife Odyssey. Overnight in a superior suite at Hacienda Rumiloma. [B]
DAY 3 : GALAPAGOS / TIJERETES TORTOISE CENTER Transfer this morning to the Quito airport for your flight to the Galapagos Islands. Upon arrival, meet your naturalist guide and the rest of the passengers for the transfer to your first adventure, a visit to the tortoise breeding center on San Cristobal. Learn about scientists' efforts to return these gentle giants to their native habitat. Return to the Coral to get settled in and convene for your first naturalist briefing that evening in the lounge. Following dinner, you may choose to join your fellow passengers for stargazing on the deck, or go to bed early in preparation for the day ahead. Overnight onboard the Coral [BLD]
DAY 4 : SAN CRISTOBAL ISLAND This morning we visit Cerro Brujo, a beautiful white sand powder beach, said to be one of the most spectacular in the Galapagos. Here we have an opportunity to snorkel directly from the beach, where you may spot turtles or flamingos. Following lunch onboard and repositioning of the yacht, we visit the northeast tip of San Cristobal, Punta Pitt. This is a tuff formation that serves as a nesting site for many seabirds, including blue-footed, Nazca, and red-footed boobies, frigatebirds, swallow-tailed gulls, and storm petrals. Punta Pitt is considered to be a first-class site for birders, so have your binoculars ready! Overnight on the Coral I or II. [BLD]
DAY 5 : SANTIAGO This morning, disembark for a hike through a Palo Santo forest, retracing trails once walked by pirates and whalers in search of a fresh water supply. A short walk takes us to a mangrove swamp where we may observe a variety of water birds as well as sea turtles. Slightly beyond lies a brackish lagoon, home to flocks of brilliant pink flamingos. The afternoon's visit to Puerto Egas offers a chance to stroll with the naturalist guide along the shoreline looking for octopus, star fish, and other sea life caught in the tide pools. At low tide, catch a glimpse of of marine iguanas as they feed on exposed green algae. Watch for great blue herons, lava herons, American oystercatchers, and yellow-crowned night herons. Our walk ends at the grottos, deep pools of clear water where we encounter fur seals once on the verge of extinction. Before returning to the yacht, don your snorkeling gear and dive in to mingle with massive numbers of colorful tropical fish. Overnight on the Coral [BLD]

Along the way, we pause to marvel at lava bombs, spatter cones and cinder cones. From the peak, gaze out across the island for a panoramic view of the surrounding archipelago and the iconic "Pinnacle Rock," an eroded tuff cone. Down below, crystal clear water is an invitation to snorkel from the beach or Zodiac with schools of tropical fish and Galapagos penguins.
