Receive a warm Tico welcome, then sit back and soak up the sights on the scenic drive to Rosa Blanca Country Inn, located in the hills outside San Jose. This elegant country inn offers a romantic hillside vista surrounded by rows of coffee plantations cascading down the slopes. Settle into the romantic Rosa Blanca Suite, which features a spiral staircase leading up to the rotunda bedroom and a canopied bed with wrap around windows. The private bath has walls painted to resemble a tropical rain forest, while cascading water plunges into a fathoms-deep tub shaped like a natural pool. Overnight Rosa Blanca Suite.[Meals on own]

Honeymoon on romantic, secluded beaches along the Pacific Coast.
DAYS 2-4 :  HOTEL LAPA RIOS, OSA PENINSULA
Morning flight to the remote and lush Osa Peninsula. Reception at the local airstrip and transfer in an open-air 4-wheel drive pickup to the exquisite Hotel Lapa Rios, a first class rain forest hotel with a spectacular hilltop setting. Romantic, secluded hillside bungalows are reached by wooden stairways. Lapa Rios is in total harmony with its surroundings. These splendid open-air bungalows are fully screened with louvered French doors leading to a private terrace, tropical outdoor shower and a large tiled indoor bathroom. Comfy queen sized beds draped in mosquito netting add a touch of romance to your tropical fantasy. There is a swimming pool overlooking the sea, a full bar and three story observation catwalk where Gourmet style meals are served in the open-air restaurant. Two Lapa Rios operated tours (your choice) are included during your stay. Overnights in a Cottage at Lapa Rios  [BLD]

Beyond the bungalows lay the 1,000 acre Lapa Rios Private Rain Forest Reserve where miles of un-crowded trails lead you through a rain forest wilderness with rivers, waterfalls, excellent wildlife viewing, and natural pools for swimming. Experience this magnificent ecosystem with the resident naturalist guide whose vast experience will help you discover the fascinating ways that animals and plants co-exist in the rain forest. Explore the beach and tide pools. Hikes are posted in the lobby where you can sign up at your hearts desire.

Scarlet macaws, inhabitants of the Lapa Rios Reserve, mate for life.
DAYS 5-7 :  OSA PENINSULA - SAN JOSE PUNTA ISLITA ON THE NORTH PACIFIC
Awake as the jungle begins to stir. Leave the lush tropical rainforest and fly to the more arid, but equally beautiful Northern Pacific Coast. Touch down in San Jose and transfer to your flight to Punta Islita. A member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Punta Islita is a cluster of Santa Fe style casitas overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Renowned for its soothing, relaxing atmosphere, gourmet meals are served in the open air dining room next to the pool. Rooms come complete with air conditioning, open terraces, and hammocks. Sleep late, linger over breakfast, relax by the pool, or arrange a massage or mud wrap at the spa (activities not included). Your secluded beach resort offers an incredible natural setting for relaxation combined with rugged adventures. Experience a bird's eye view of the canopy gliding through the trees on a zip line. Play a quick set of tennis and cool off in the ocean side pool, the cliff top infinity pool, or the refreshing surf. Enjoy a cool, fruity concoction at the swim up bar and delicious international cuisine in the thatched roofed restaurant. Enjoy as much or as little as you like. Looking for thrills and adventure? Learn to surf the un-crowded ocean waves, hop in a kayak and explore the Pacific Coastline or a jungle river. Want to see more of the surrounding area? Hike the endangered Tropical Dry Forest or gallop by horseback along the beach. Eager to experience the unique Tico culture? Visit the neighboring villages and explore the Community Open Air Contemporary Art Museum, a celebration of culture and heritage through art. Overnights at Hotel Punta Islita. [B]

Adventure and romance are found throughout this exclusive itinerary.
DAY 8 :  PUNTA ISLITA - XANDARI PLANTATION
If time permits enjoy a last minute dip in the pool before packing your bags for the flight to San Jose. Airport reception and drive to Xandari Plantation Resort and Spa, where the private terraces, furniture, gardens and pool areas are designed with great attention to detail, and each villa is adorned with original works of art. Over 2 miles of scenic trails through coffee and fruit orchards lead into a lush natural tropical setting with a year-round river and five cascading waterfalls. Fruits, vegetables and herbs from the plantation's gardens complement Xandari's health-conscious specialty dishes. Xandari'spalm-roofed Spa Village is reminiscent of an indigenous pueblo set amidst waterfalls and gardens.A full range of spa treatments is available, as well as individualized fitness programs. Overnight at Xandari Plantation. [B]

DAY 9 :  RETURN HOME
Wake in time for breakfast and a transfer guide will take you to the airport approximately two hours before your scheduled international flight. There is a $26 per person departure tax which must be paid in cash-either U.S. Dollars or Costa Rican colons. [B]

Note: You might consider, according to your departure flight schedule and availability at the hotel, to fly directly to the International airport on day 9 and connect with your international flight back home instead of spending the last night in San Jose.  You would need to depart the country no later than 10:00 a.m. for us to provide this service.  Additional cost $180 per person.
