Botswana Explorer
Drift silently through the crystal clear waterways of the Okavango Delta before exploring a verdant delta island in search of wildlife. Adventure through pristine sanctuaries in search of elusive game, track predators in their natural habitats and tuck into gourmet dishes. Our 10 day Botswana Explorer visits the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, Savute National Park, Chobe National Park and Victoria Falls. A maximum of six guests stay in spacious safari tents with comfortable beds, pressed linens, bedside tables and lamps, and an en suite bathroom with flush toilet, hand basin and hot bucket shower. Eight nights are spent camping, with the final night at an intimate lodge upstream from Victoria Falls.
DAYS 1-2 : OKAVANGO DELTA Upon arrival at Maun International Airport you are met and assisted onto the light aircraft transfer to Nxabega (Na-bek-ah) Airstrip where you will be transferred to the beautiful camp site on the edge of the Okavango Delta. Explore this remarkable eco-system in a 17,300 acre private wildlife concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Meaning Place of the Giraffe, your camp site at Nxabega is ideally positioned to explore the magnificence of the Okavango the largest inland delta in the world. A wetland wilderness of looping channels, islands forested with palms and wide grassy floodplains, the Delta is home to a magnificent array of wild animals and exceptional birdlife. Explore the crystal-clear channels, islands and waterways by mokoro and enjoy game-viewing walks on the islands. Two night Nxebega campsite. [D on day 1, BLD day 2]

DAYS 3-4 : MOREMI WILDLIFE RESERVE, OKAVANGO DELTA You are transferred by light aircraft this morning to the North gate region of Moremi Wildlife Reserve. Set aside in 1963 by the Batawana tribe, this reserve is often rated as Africa's most beautiful wildlife sanctuary and covers nearly 20% of the Okavango Delta. Spend your days on extensive and interpretive game drives, exploring wide stretches of the Delta. Two nights Moremi campsite. [BLD]
DAYS 5-6 : SAVUTE Travel overland this morning, spotting wildlife during a 5-6 hour game drive north through the Delta and into the Savute region. This area is characteristically dry and is an excellent for lions, cheetahs and other predators. Your overnights here are spent camping next to the mostly dry Savute Channel; seasonal flooding in 2008 brought water down the channel to places where flood waters have not been seen in 24 years! In the winter months, large concentrations of animals are attracted to this area in search of water. Two nights Savute campsite. [BLD]

DAYS 7-8 : CHOBE WILDLIFE RESERVE From Savute you move up to northern Chobe during a 4 to 5 hour overland game drive. This area is justly famous for huge herds of elephants; you may spend many hours watching these massive creatures interact with each other and surrounds in and around the waters of the Chobe River on game drives or private boat cruise. The river also attracts a wide variety of birdlife, including the vibrant Malachite Kingfisher. Two nights Serondela campsite. [BLD]
DAY 9 : VICTORIA FALLS It is a short drive from Chobe National Park to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, where you will welcome the chance to wash off Botswana's dust, relax over a cold beer, and dicuss the events of your safari after a tour of the Falls. Overnight accommodation is at Matetsi Water Lodge, situated on the banks of the spectacular Zambezi River just 40 kilometers upstream from the magnificent Victoria Falls. Set under Mangosteen and Waterberry trees, the lodge consists of three small, exclusive camps, each with six elegant suites and beautiful open thatched dining areas overlooking the River. [BLD]

DAY 10 : DEPART After one last breakfast in the bush you are transferred to Victoria Falls International Airport for your departing flight. [B] Note: There are frequent departures for this trip; please see below and call us for more departure dates.
