DAY 1 :  ARRIVE BELIZE
Arrive Belize City International airport and meet your driver for the two hour trip, west across Belize to Chaa Creek Cottages. This beautiful, comfortable lodge is set among a private 330 acre rain forest reserve on the shores of the Macal River in Belize's Cayo District. Flower lined paths bring you to stucco cottages with tall peaked palapa roofs and wooden shutters made from local materials. The spacious cottages have private baths, tiled floors and decorations of colorful Guatemalan textiles. The full service restaurant and bar feature fresh, well prepared meals, often highlighting vegetables from the on site organic garden. Other amenities include a full menu of activities, a natural history center and butterfly farm, a full service spa, conference center and small gift shop featuring local crafts. Overnight in a garden suite at Chaa Creek Cottages. [D]

DAYS 2-3 :  RUINS AND RAINFOREST ADVENTURES
Chaa Creek is well located in the Cayo District for numerous explorations into the Belizean rain forest. The days are yours to choose your own activities at Chaa Creek. Canoe on the gentle Macal River, hike in the surrounding forest with a naturalist guide, visit a butterfly garden, go horseback riding, or caving explorations to see ancient Mayan ceremonial sites as well as spending time together in your secluded suite. Consider an optional day trip to the ruins of Tikal, Guatemala, two hours away over the Guatemalan border (at additional cost). Overnights at Chaa Creek. [BLD]

Amble along a long stretch of Caribbean beach as you discover the wonders of Belize.
DAY 4 :  HUMMINGBIRD HIGHWAY TO PLACENCIA
Enjoy one of the most scenic drives in Belize along the Hummingbird Highway through the Maya Mountains to Kanantik Reef & Jungle Resort on the Caribbean coast. Kanantik is built on a 1,300-foot private beach in the South Stann Creek area, 18 miles south of Dangriga on the mainland of Belize. Enjoy over 300 acres of pristine land, full of wildlife. Each thatched-roof cabana is indulgently spacious and luxurious. The main lodge is designed with a unique blend of Mayan tradition and contemporary style with handcrafted furnishings and a large deck for relaxing. Your four-night stay includes breakfast, lunch and a three course dinner each day as well as soft drinks, fresh squeezed juices and local cocktails and beers. All activities are also included in your stay. Spend the rest of your time relaxing at the ocean front pool and whirlpool or take out one of the complimentary kayaks or Hobie cats. Overnight in an ocean front cabana at Kanantik Resort. [BD]

Imagine awakening with your loved one as the sun rises over the Caribbean.
DAYS 5-7 :  EXPLORE THE CARIBBEAN COAST AND REEF
These days you can explore more of Belize on the guided tours from Kanantik. You may choose to spend your days bird watching in the tropical forest, canoeing on nearby rivers in search of birds, crocodiles, iguana and manatees, snorkeling the barrier reef  and more. Scuba diving on the barrier reef is included as well, two dives per day, and all gear. All guests also have unlimited use of the Hobie Cats and sea kayaks. Or, simply relax by the pool or on the beach! At the end of the day return to Kanantik for overnight in your ocean front cabana. [BLD]

DAY 8 :  RETURN TO THE US OR BEGIN EXTENSION
Optional extra days at Kanantik, or depart from the Kanantik airstrip to fly back to Belize City to connect with international departure. [B]
