Live the romance of the African bush honeymooning under canvas and starry skies, and lounging on pristine beaches. Our Tanzania Honeymoon Safari pairs northern Tanzania's premier parks with the exotic island of Zanzibar. Accompanied by expert naturalist guides visit the Tarangire National Park and the vast plains of the Serengeti. Witness diverse wildlife and learn about Maasai culture while you unwind in deluxe, full service camps and premier ecolodges. Enjoy candlelit dinners and fine wines on the savannah, and personal service throughout your Tanzania honeymoon. Conclude your overland safari with several relaxing days of R&R (rest and romance) in the tropical paradise of the "Spice Islands" of Zanzibar.

DAY 1 :  ARUSHA
Upon arrival into Arusha you are met and transferred to the Arusha Coffee Lodge. The lodge offers a perfect haven for visitors recovering from a long haul flight complete with beautiful spacious rooms. Overnight at Arusha Coffee Lodge. [D]

DAY 2 :  TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
A short early morning flight from Arusha brings you to the Kuro airstrip in the southern and less traveled portion of Tarangire National Park. Named after the Tarangire River that runs through it, this park is known for its large herds of elephants and migratory herds of wildebeest, zebra, and buffalo with lion, leopard, and other predators following in the footsteps of the herds. The elusive greater and lesser kudu are frequently spotted as well as eland and Oryx. Get your first glimpse of the incredible wildlife viewing you can expect in Tarangires unspoiled wilderness zone on a game drive traveling from the airstrip to your intimate safari camp. Overnight Olivers Camp. [BLD]

DAY 3 :  TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Rise early to witness the morning wildlife activity on a guided walking safari through the endless acacia woodlands and open plains habitats surrounding camp. With its location in the wilderness zone of Tarangire National Park, Olivers Camp is privileged to be the only camp in Tarangire to operate walks inside the Park boundaries. Walking with a professional park ranger, you learn to interpret the tracks, spoor, calls and other wildlife signatures and enjoy unique wildlife viewing. Roving the land with your senses heightened you become part of the landscape and feel Africa beneath your feet. Fitness level, interests, animal movement, season and the days temperature will determine the length and route of your walk with the possibility of combining a morning on foot with an afternoon game drive or spending the day on a 6-7 hour walk through the Park. Sip sundowners watching the sun sink below the vast horizon and unwind around the evening fire recounting the days highlights. Overnight Olivers Camp. [BLD]

DAYS 4-6 :  SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After one last game drive en route to the airstrip, you fly to the Serengeti National Park, where you are met by your guide and game drive to camp. Our camp is located in the Central Serengeti near the Moru Kopjes, the only place in the Serengeti where rhino can currently be seen.

Watch zebras and other plains game from your private vehicle in the Serengeti.

The massive granite kopjes are islands of rock standing in a sea of grass, which provide shelter to a great variety of plants and animals--from the elusive leopard to the tiny dik dik. Activities these days are left up to your guide's suggestion in order to take full advantage of the movements of the wildlife. Overnight for three nights at Dunia Camp. [BLD] Ask about adding an unforgettable sunrise float in a hot air balloon capped off by a champagne breakfast. Please call for pricing.

DAYS 7-9 :  PRISTINE BEACHES AT MATEMWE BUNGALOWS
Morning flight from the Serengeti airstrip to Arusha. After a farewell lunch, transfer to the airport for a flight to Zanzibar Island. The spice islands of Zanzibar evoke an exotic island environment full of history, culture and exotic tropical beauty. Upon arrival youll be met and whisked to Matemwe Bungalows, which sits on a beautiful stretch of beach.

Your next days are spent relaxing at the lodge, taking long walks on the soft white sand, or wading in the shallow waters of the Indian Ocean. Other activities such as fishing, snorkeling, SCUBA diving, and dhow trips can be booked at additional cost once you arrive. Overnights at Matemwe Resort. [BLD]

DAY 10 :  DEPARTURE
Enjoy breakfast and one last stroll on the beach before transferring back to the Zanzibar Airport for your flight to Dar Es Salaam, connecting with your international departure.  [B]
