Our journey to the White Continent offers six days of exploration on the incomparably beautiful Antarctic Peninsula and the surrounding islands and waterways. The sights, sounds and emotions will stay in your mind forever enormous tabular icebergs, hillsides covered with thousands of penguins, and the excitement on deck as someone shouts, Whales! On this expedition, the M.S. Endeavour will also round the southernmost tip of South America, Cape Horn, named in 1616 by Dutch navigator Willem Schouten, who called the Cape Hoorn after his birthplace. Time is also spent exploring the vibrant capital city of Santiago.

DAY 1 :  SANTIAGO
Early morning arrival in Santiago. Airport reception and transfer to your hotel. Santiago, a mix of European, Spanish Colonial and modern architecture, surprises us with its cosmopolitan charms and pleasures, including sun-mellowed facades, lush palms and the Andes as a backdrop. This afternoon enjoy an guided exploration of Santiago, including a visit to the Pre-Columbian Museum. Overnight in Santiago. [LD]

A captive audience as the M/S Endeavour approaches the Antarctic Peninsula.
DAY 2 :  USHUAIA AND MS ENDEAVOR
Fly south over the rugged Patagonian landscape to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. This afternoon we will enjoy a traditional barbecue lunch and a hike in the national park before boarding the MS Endeavour. This evening meet your fellow passengers as you enjoy dinner, a welcome briefing and the formal presentation of your captain and crew. Leaving Ushuaia behind, the journey for Antarctica begins. [BLD]

Visit colonies of penguins and capture amazing photographs.
DAYS 3-4 :  DRAKE PASSAGE
As we cross the Drake Passage, we keep a lookout for the various seabirds that glide alongside our ship and our eyes open for whales. In the company of naturalist guides, you will be treated to a series of informative lectures on the natural history and fauna of the white continent as well as tales of both successful and futile explorations of this region. We may be greeted by misty, grey conditions or perhaps calm water and clear skies as we pass through the legendary passage. Overnights aboard the MS Endeavour. [BLD]

DAYS 5-10 :  ANTARCTICA
With nearly 24 hours of daylight at this time of year, we make the most of our six days exploring the Antarctic Peninsula and the surrounding islands. Our schedule is flexible, allowing us to take advantage of the unexpected. We'll sail through the incomparable Lemaire Channel, learn to identify penguins and other bird species, and land on the "White Continent." The MS Endeavour features hydrophones to record marine mammals, a "splash cam" to view underwater marine life and a ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle-an underwater camera in a metal cage capable of transmitting images at depths of 500 feet). Together with our veteran expedition team, we will navigate through berg fields by Zodiac and paddle kayaks through the pristine waters. Overnights aboard the MS Endeavour. [BLD]

Sea Kayaking brings you closer to the wildlife and icebergs.
DAY 11 :  AT SEA
As we begin our journey back to Ushuaia and the familiar, you will have ample time to enjoy a massage, log time in the gym or catch up on your journal of this epic adventure. Be sure to keep watch for the occasional albatross escort! Overnight at the MS Endeavour. [BLD]

DAY 12 :  CAPE HORN
Today we round the southernmost tip of South America, en route to Ushuaia. Overnight at the MS Endeavour. [BLD]

DAY 13 :  USHUAIA-SANTIAGO-RETURN
Disembark in the world's southernmost city. Explore the town and have lunch. This afternoon, fly to Santiago and connect with your scheduled international flight. [BL]
