for Alfonso
Based on our experiences in
100 countries on seven continents, we
can say that Alfonso Muralles far exceeded
our expectations. He proved to be mature,
prompt, courteous, cheerful, reliable
and knowledgeable. We never felt as if
we were listening to a canned spiel,
which
we have often experienced elsewhere,
both as independent travelers and on
organized
tours. Moreover, Alfonso's extensive
personal and business travel worldwide
has made
him truly attuned to the needs of tourists.
A well-educated man, he also provides
cultural insights and comparisons that
we have never encountered with other
guides.
When Alfonso's wife and business partner,
Diana Castillo, joined us for a few days
toward the end of the tour, she brought
a similar background, which further enhanced
our travel. It was like traveling with
close friends.

I hope you realize the value
of your Guatemalan guide, Alfonso Muralles
and the potential for tourism in Guatemala.
I thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty
and the rich cultural and historical legacy
that is Guatemala.

Our guide, Alfonso Poncho Moralles,
was very personal, professional, knowledgeable
and enthusiastic. We felt
totally safe and comfortable. His wife,
Diana, traveled with us for a few of the
days, making it kind of a family affair.
The day we hiked down the inside of a
crater and took a boat across Lake Attilan
was incredible. The scenery was spectacular
and the markets were fun.

Alfonso and Diana Muralles
were most gracious hosts. We peppered
them with questions and could not stump
the experts. There was no limit to their
patience and graciousness. They really
made it impossible not to love Guatemala.
We dined in lovely places that encouraged
conversation and discussion and this was
a highlight of our trip.
