Venture off-the-beaten-path and travel to Belize, a place with an incredible milieu of ancient ruins, pristine reefs and lush rainforests. Our Belize adventure vacations take you from the inland tropical rainforests of the Cayo District to the white-sand beaches and pristine coral cayes of the Belize Barrier Reef. We’ll connect you with local people in native villages, uncover the secrets of the ancient Mayan at the major ruins of Tikal and Caracol and lesser-known sites like Xunantunich, explore sacred caves and underground rivers, all the while looking for the abundant wildlife including howler and spider monkeys, iguanas, crocodiles, toucans and more.
The origins of our Belize program began over 20 years when we partnered with a local Belizean and guide extraordinaire, Sam Tillet. Together with Sam, we designed our adventures around offering guests a taste of daily life in Belize based from his village of Crooked Tree in the Cayo District. Also in those early days, we pioneered travel to the southern district of Toledo, shuttling guests along a rough track in the back of a pickup truck deep into the rainforest to Lubaantun ruins and for lunch in the family home of Jose Oh, a local Maya native.
Today, as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Wildland, we continue exploring Belize led by another extraordinary guide, Luis Godoy, who carries on Sam's tradition of sharing both the natural and the cultural heritage of Belize in a truly personal, hands-on and friendly style. And as those rough roads in southern Belize gradually improved, we kept pioneering distinctive adventures among the caves, jungles, rivers and local communities throughout Belize such as our Undiscovered Belize Adventure recognized by National Geographic Traveler as a Tour of a Lifetime.
