> Travelers' Talk
"Although it was the hardest activity
I have ever undertaken as an adult, it was the most enchantingly
amazing thing I've ever done. My teenage daughters were
thrilled with watching the gorillas, and they never even
broke a sweat on the 6 to 8 hour treks each day. A second
highlight was meeting the people, who are warm & friendly
& happy. We interacted as much as possible. The girls
taught the army soldiers and kids how to play frisbee.
(
I edited out the lollipop bit so that this does not encourage
travelers to bring candy to kids!) A third highlight was
visiting the Bwindi orphans school. We dropped off all
our
daughters' clothes for them to use. I took the sneakers
off my feet to donate to them, as well. The 250 or so orphans
sang and danced for us. I got some wonderful photos and
I am considering how to help them build a permanent/concrete
building for their new school."

“Every place on the safari had its
own uniqueness. I really enjoyed the diversity. People
thinking
about travel to Uganda should go with an open mind and
allow
the rhythm of Africa to come in!”
