Doug Thomson
Wildland Adventures' private Cape Town guide, Doug Thomson, specializes in giving our travelers a true insider's experience of Cape Province. Doug was educated at Rhodes University in the Eastern Cape Province where he earned a BSC in zoology and botany. After teaching high school sciences and coaching rugby and cricket teams for several years, Doug founded his own guiding service. His vibrant personality, interpretive skills and commanding presence are an asset as a private guide through one of the most beautiful and cultural interesting regions in Africa. Doug's passion for South Africa - its people, flora and fauna - is inspiring for both first time visitors and for those who return again and again. Doug has an exceptional knowledge of the Western Cape and loves introducing guests to his colleagues, winemakers and township residents. "For me, it is an absolute privilege to host Wildland travelers and give them a sense of what my little corner of Africa has to offer," says Doug, pictured below with his wife, Sarah. "When time allows, I always try to get my friends or family involved in our tours. This may be a stop off at my home for coffee, a braai (BBQ) at my house with my family, or a friend or two joining us to watch a rugby game on TV. It is these special experiences where travellers stop being clients and become friends for life."
Thabang Titoti
Thabang has worked as a guide in Cape Town since 1993. His cultural township experience tours offer Wildland travellers the unique opportunity to visit and experience several vibrant township communities around Cape Town while learning much about the sometimes difficult but always fascinating history of South Africa.
