Elkep Evi Cave Hotel
Behind the monumental stone-built façade of a natural
landscape overlooking the ancient city of Urgup, Cappadoccia,
lie a labyrinth of well-appointed rooms. The Elkep Evi is
a boutique hotel renovated from ancient cave dwellings, architecturally
designed to bring in natural light and enjoy the spectacular
views overlooking the picturesque valley. Classic and elegant
bedrooms feature modern lighting and plumbing designed with
wood floors and central heating, distinctively appointed
with antique Turkish carpets, dressing tables and accent
lighting to create a soothing and cozy atmosphere. Room configurations
are varied including several spacious suites and many with
en suite Jacuzzis. A traditional Turkish breakfast of home-made
gozleme (a savoury Turkish pastry), olives, cheese, fresh
bread, an assortment of jams, freshly squeezed orange juice
and tea or coffee is served from the hilltop garden with
unparalleled view. Our cave host, Haydar Haykir is also our
principal guide in the region and often our musical entertainer.
He is one of the most congenial and knowledgeable guides
in the world.
