Ruaha River Lodge

  Ruaha River Lodge
Large stone and thatch cottages are a great place to cool off in the heat of the day.
Ruaha River Lodge occupies a unique and privileged position set around a series of rocky kopjes in a bend of the Great Ruaha River, blending seamlessly into its surroundings and affording views up and down the river. Game is drawn to the river from the neighboring hills and visitors can witness the great wildlife dramas unfold from the comfort and protection of their self contained natural stone and thatch 'banda'. Each of the 20 bandas is a small self contained cottage, with hot water, ensuite bath, and a verandah. The Lodge is hosted by Peter and Sarah Fox who after a couple of decades living in Ruaha have an unparalleled knowledge of the park.

Room interiors are large, with plenty of space to rest and relax in-between activities.   The dining and lounge areas are open air, looking out to the river.

With the Ruaha River at your doorstep it's not uncommon to see antelope, giraffe, and elephants coming to drink from your room.
