Ruaha River Lodge

  Ruaha River Lodge
The stunning location of the Ruaha River Lodge gives each verandah a view of the clear waters of the Great Ruaha River and the broad Tanzania landscape stretching out before your eyes.
Ruaha River Lodge, recently remodeled, occupies a unique and privileged position set around a series of rocky kopjes in a bend of the Great Ruaha River, blending seamlessly into its surroundings and affording views up and down the river. Game is drawn to the river from the neighboring hills and visitors can witness the great wildlife dramas unfold from the comfort and protection of their self contained natural stone and thatch 'banda'. Each of the 20 Tanzania safari bandas is a small self contained cottage, with hot water, en suite bath, and a verandah. Meals can be enjoyed from the open-air dining areas so the spectacular Tanzania landscape can be viewed from your table. The Lodge is hosted by Peter and Sarah Fox who after a couple of decades living in Ruaha have an unparalleled knowledge of the park.

The rustic feel of each private banda blends in with the rocky surroundings of the rocky kopjes.   Relax at the end of your day with a sundowner in the comfortable open-air lounge with a view of the river and the antelope, giraffe and elephant that come for a drink.
