Arathusa Safari Lodge

  Arathusa Safari Lodge
Enjoy comfortable accommodations located around the large watering hole.
Arathusa Safari Lodge is located within the northern sector of the Sabi Sand Reserve, and shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, allowing the prolific wildlife free range. Arathusa is an intimate lodge, accommodating no more than 20 guests at time, and is designed to harmoniously blend with the adjacent lake and African bush. Ten thatched luxury suites each feature a bathroom en suite (with bath and separate indoor and outdoor showers), and a verandah for enjoyment of the surrounding wilds. Meal times at Arathusa are a sociable affair and guests are treated to sumptuous dishes, fresh produce and home baked confections. Sabi Sand Reserve is renowned for the excellent leopard sighting opportunities. Large herds of buffalo, numbering in excess of 300 animals, often find their way to the Arathusa watering hole. There are various lion prides in the area, as well as a few nomadic males. The rangers and trackers draw visitors into another world where the language is in the sound and rhythm of the bush. They are full of entertaining anecdotes, interesting bits of information and an infectious enthusiasm. Game drives in open safari vehicle guarantee close encounters and with unparalleled photographic opportunities. Being on foot brings an altogether different view of the bush, and guided walks with an armed ranger may be arranged.
