Reserva Amazonica
Reserva Amazonica
Reserva Amazonica is located at the intersection of the
Tambopata and Madre de Dios Rivers, amid a 40-square-mile
private ecological reserve. The lodge boasts 30 private
cabanas and 3 suites built with local materials in native
style. Rooms are palm thatched-roofed, wooden and rustic,
built in the Amazon's traditional Ese-Eja and Machiguenga
styles.
Service areas are located in a two-story wooden
pavilion with a cathedral ceiling housing the dining
room, bar, the main lounge and a mezzanine overlooking
the rainforest
where visitors can relax while enjoying the serenity
of the rainforest.
Wildlife viewing here is remarkable
as
the trail system extends across roughly 8 km (6 miles)
of surrounding rainforest, allowing an easier access
to a variety of habitats inside the forest. You can also
observe
wildlife from the Canopy walkway, which is a complex
set of hanging bridges, towers and platforms where visitors
can experience a part of the rainforest ecosystem seldom
seen by human eyes. The rainforest canopy offers glimpses
at unique flora and fauna that are impossible to observe
from the ground level.
