The douar is located in a small Berber village in the Atlas Mountains near the town of Imlil. |
Dedicated to sustainable tourism, Kasbah Samra was constructed using traditional and
ancient Berber techniques. Located in a small Berber village in the Atlas Mountains,
this douar (traditional home of the Berber people) is well situated to take advantage
of the numerous day hikes in the region. Kasbah Samra employs many of the local men
while also offering the opportunity for local women to re-value their traditional
skills such as carpet weaving. The douar preserves the local architecture, passed on
from generation to generation, and gives the visitor a chance to catch a glimpse of
traditional Berber life in comfort. With ten individual bedrooms and one bungalow,
Berber cuisine for meals and a hammam, the Kasbah Samsara invites the traveler to
stop and appreciate the remarkable scenery and the Berber way of life.
