Ol Donyo Lodge

  Ol Donyo Lodge
Your Kenya wilderness adventure includes a variety of activities based from the main lodge including a log hide for up close photography, hiking with Maasai guides, horseback riding and fly camping.
Recently redesigned and rebuilt, this ideally located safari lodge looks over sweeping views of the vast savannah and Mt. Kilimanjaro from the slopes of the Chyulu Hills National Park between Amboseli and Tsavo West National Parks in southeast Kenya. Consisting of ten expansive guest suites and six stand-alone villas, the new Ol Donyo Lodge provides originality and comfort. Each suite has a lounge, verandah, indoor and outdoor showers, flush toilet and private pool. Opt for the spectacular sleeping arrangement on the rooftop “star-bed” accessed from the verandah via a winding stone staircase. Activities in the area include game drives in open land rovers, walking with Maasai guides, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Visit the log hide to safely view wildlife at exceptionally close range at the lodge’s waterhole. Fly camping in Africa is an experience not to be missed; you can also spending a night out under canvas with the traditional safari kit.

Ol Donyo Lodge
Each luxury suite is equipped with all the necessary amenities making for a comfortable home base for your Kenya safari adventure.
This area serves as a migration corridor for game moving between Amboseli and Tsavo and is habitat for elephant, buffalo, eland as well as specialist species such as gerenuk, oryx, and lesser kudu. Predators are present including lion, leopard and cheetah, and this area is home to one of the last Kenyan populations of black rhino. The Maasailand Preservation Trust was formed in 1992 to oversee the Ol Donyo Lodge community projects. It manages every community outreach program including building schools and health clinics, creating anti-poaching teams and overseeing the predator compensation scheme as well as the 86 community game scouts in the Amboseli region.
