The Karen Blixen Coffee Cottages are located in Karen, a lush and quiet suburb 20 miles
from downtown Nairobi. The cottages are nestled in one of the oldest formal gardens in
Kenya with huge jacaranda, candelabra, cactus, bottlebrush and many other trees.
Hundreds of flowers bloom through the year and many bird feeders attract numerous
varieties of birds. The cottages and public buildings are a blend of the original farm
house and carefully planned newer construction. Each of the cottages is well appointed
with hi-beam ceilings, fireplaces, wood and stone floors. Mini bars, 24-hour room
service, satellite TVs and internet connection are also available. A private swimming
pool, garden bar and spa are perfect for relaxing in the afternoons. The restaurant
offers a choice of five dining areas for lunch and dinner?including in-room, poolside,
in the spacious outdoor garden, restaurant veranda or in the formal dinning room. Relax
by the large fireplace in the dining room in suede chairs on chilly or rainy days or play
