Borana Lodge

  Borana Lodge
Each suite at Borana was constructed using local materials in the traditional style.
Located at the foot of Mount Kenya, Borana Lodge is 6,500 feet above sea level adjacent to the Lewa Wildlife Reserve. The surrounding 35,000 acre Borana Ranch is home to the famous species of Northern Kenya including gerenuk, oryx, Grevy's zebra and Reticulated giraffe. This area is also host to a large elephant population and many predators, all providing exciting game viewing with knowledgeable rangers from open safari vehicles. At night retire in the 8 room Borana Lodge. Each stone cottage is complemented by neutral tones and natural materials, with original Kenyan paintings on the walls and a verandah perfect for sipping coffee or tea in the early morning. Enjoy a dip in the swimming pool after a day game driving, and talk with other guests around the lounge before dinner or just sit back and take in the panoramic views of Mt. Kenya. In addition to game driving, Borana offers walking opportunities, night drives, and horseback riding. Visit local Maasai communities or learn how a Kenyan ranch is run.
