Hotel Alta

  Hotel Alta
Entrance to the luxurious boutique-style San Jose Hotel Alta.
Nestled against a hillside of the Central Mountains, overlooking Costa Rica's Valle del Sol, Hotel El Alta is an exquisite combination of Spanish colonial architecture, old-world charm and twentieth-century comfort. Classic, decorator touches from southern Spain include delicate wrought-iron planters, burnt-umber roofing tiles and the coolness of stucco, in shades ranging from dazzling white to wheat, to maize and soft ochre. Alta also features high, vaulted ceilings, lots of glass, gray stone floors, and judiciously placed wooden balustrades which give a feeling of airiness and space. Huge tapestries and big, bold paintings of orchids, cala lilies and other tropical flowers adorn the walls.

Arrange to have breakfast on your private balcony.
All of the 16 deluxe guest rooms are air-conditioned and each opens onto a large private balcony with stunning views of the Valle del Sol (Sun Valley). Other comforts include cable color television, direct dial telephone, mini-bar and, in the exquisitely decorated bathroom, bathtub, hair-dryer and full amenities.

Alta's four junior suites feature a fully-furnished living room with sofa-bed, a television and a desk. Elegant wooden tables and highboy, a queen-sized bed and a second television furnish the bedroom. The large bathroom is highlighted by an elevated bathtub surrounded by colorful tiles and by a huge walk-in closet complete with lots of mirrors and fluffy terry robes.
