Arenal Observatory Lodge

  Arenal Observatory Lodge
Arenal Observatory Lodge is surrounded by 270 acres of primary rain forest penetrated by an extensive system of well-marked trails.
The Arenal Observatory Lodge is surrounded by montane rain forest. The main lodge has a bar, restaurant and terrace with views of the volcano and Lake Arenal. It is a five minute walk across a suspension bridge from the main lodge to the pool and twenty-four superior rooms, all of which feature private bath and a full window view of the volcano. Access to the facility is over an un-maintained, bumpy gravel road that crosses a small river (no bridge). On-site you hike local trails and lava flows near the lodge. Please remember that tours to other sites in the region require a 45-minute drive each way along the rugged road, and that the lodge currently views the dormant side of the volcano where you cannot see lava and rock falls. Arenal Observatory Lodge is one of the highest rated eco-lodges in Costa Rica.
