Xigera Camp (pronounced Keejera) is a luxury-tented camp situated within the Moremi Game Reserve. With permanent water all year round one can enjoy a variety of activities including foot safaris, mokoros, game drives and boating trips in total privacy. Xigera has something for everyone, in an area where there are no other Moremi camps. The variety of activities on offer cannot be beaten. Here you can explore the wonders of the quiet Okavango waterways, which offer perfect mokoro opportunities and a true Delta experience. Built within a shady grove, Xigera consists of 8 luxuriously furnished walk-in tented rooms, with en-suite facilities and outdoor shower. Each room is raised off the ground offering superb views of the floodplain to the east of camp and its attractive waterhole. Meals are enjoyed in the dining room overlooking the main river, which along with the pub and lounge area are under thatch. The whole camp is raised off the ground and raised walkways connect the bedrooms to the central living area. There is a plunge pool too. The wooden footbridge, a unique feature to Xigera, connects the Xigera island to the next and is often used by Lion and Leopard moving between the islands, allowing guests great viewing opportunities. Birding in the area is excellent, with Pels Fishing Owl, Slaty Egret, Wattled Crane, Rufousbellied Heron and a host of eagles, vultures and raptors. The area also has the highest density of the rare Sitatunga antelope found anywhere in the Okavango Delta.
