Posada Los Mimbres
“Los Mimbres was lovely, the best food on the trip and great hospitality!”
|
– J. & T. Ryan, Custom Patagonia Adventure |
Dating from the 1870s, this historic posada was the original farm house of Welsh settlers in the province
of Chubut. In 1988 the Plust family purchased 53 of the 100 original hectares, updated the facilities and
opened the posada to guests. Each of the three bedrooms offers period furnishings and private, modern
bathrooms. A small library and reading room provides the perfect spot for guests to relax and read about
the history of Chubut. A cozy dining room with a large fireplace and bar becomes the gathering place for
guests to share stories from their day. On the property, travelers can explore walking paths along the
adjacent Chubut River and bikes are available for guests' use. Hammocks and a barbeque pit-for the typical
Patagonian feast-complete this authentic experience. With close proximity to Peninsula Valdes and the penguin
rookery at Punta Tombo, Posada Los Mimbres is an excellent base for exploring wildlife rich Chubut.
