Lying 12 km from the southern tip of Lake Malawi’s shoreline, Mumbo Island is uninhabited with the exception of Kayak Africa’s barefoot style luxury eco-camp. The five large fully furnished safari tents are situated on thatched wooden platforms with shady view decks and hammocks overlooking the lake. The dry composter toilets and al fresco bucket showers cause minimal impact on the environment. Guests enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, diving and swimming in the crystal clear lake water, walking the island trails and relaxing in a hammock contemplating the stunning scenery.
