Ethiopia: Land of Legends
March 17-March 28, 2009
Keep your bags packed - and travel to Ethiopia this March with Dr. Gordon and Betty Orians. Gordon is a retired U. Washington professor of zoology, member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and
Sciences. Although Gordon is not acting as trip leader or lecturer, he looks forward to sharing his personal and scientific insights as we travel through this ancient land; the 'Cradle of Mankind'. The Orians have also planned a week
extension to the south into Ethiopia's Rift Valley around Lake Langano and the Bale Mountain massif, hoping to spot the Ethiopian Wolf.
Ancient Aegean of Turkey and Greece
September 23-October 8, 2009
Wandering overland from Istanbul along the Sea of Marmara with our expert Turkish guide,
Ozlem Ozgoren, this special group of Wildland travelers is returning to Turkey for the second time to explore in more depth the highlights of the Aegean coast. We visit the relatively unknown archaeological site of
Clazomenae, one of twelve Ionian cities where our guide conducted research for her advanced studies. It is also near Ozlem's home village of Urla, where she will introduce us to local families, shopkeepers, fisherman and craft artisans,
prior to our embarkation on a traditional gulet to sail through the Turkish and Greek Dedocenese Islands.
