Traveler’s Corner: Peru
Our trip to Turkey was truly the custom trip of a lifetime! The itinerary was a constant adventure with unparalleled opportunities to experience the Turkish culture, history and archeological ruins, exactly as we had set out to do when we called Wildland. We had extraordinary opportunities to meet local people, to use wonderful local hotels, and we enjoyed so many excellent meals that allowed a full sampling of local dishes and specialties.
"What really made it for our small group of long-time friends was to make last minute changes to our itinerary that allowed us to tailor the experience as it occurred. "
~Peter Kaplan

"This trip was everything I have dreamed about and more. On our last night drive of the trip, I was just taking it all in – the smells, sights and sounds of Botswana. I was so sad to leave and so overwhelmed by the amazing trip that I actually cried. Vaughn and I will never forget the trip or the wonderful people we met. "

 About Us
What's love got to do with it? Everything! A Wildland honeymoon or romantic vacation is an adventure of discovery by day and romance at night in the most enchanting eco-lodges, boutique hotels, and luxury wilderness camps. Beyond the amenities, we travel to celebrate our life together, to re-connect with each other touched by the bounty of nature, enchanted by ancient mysteries, and inspired by the way of life of the native peoples who may be worlds apart but are of the same heart. Taking risks and making new discoveries together we create memories of a lifetime that reconnect us with each other as we become inextricably linked to the world around us.

Traveling in the 'Wild Style' in touch with the people and places we visit, in humility with an openness to learn and to share, we are motivated by love. In this way, we believe travel has the power to transform through love. In the words of Jean-Michel Cousteau, "With love comes understanding and the humility to realize that we are vulnerable yet strong. It gives us the strength to deal with our difficult past and the confidence to move into the great adventure of the future."

Love Is In The Air (over Botswana)
A romantic champagne brunch actually in the Zambezi River, with a view over the precipice of Victoria Falls, is a wildly stunning way to embark on your Wings Over Northern Botswana African safari. We traverse Botswana's Savuti region and the Okavango Delta, habitat of large lion prides and elephant herds.

Uncommon Departures Offer Uncommon Experiences

Ethiopia: Land of Legends
March 17-March 28, 2009
Keep your bags packed - and travel to Ethiopia this March with Dr. Gordon and Betty Orians. Gordon is a retired U. Washington professor of zoology, member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Although Gordon is not acting as trip leader or lecturer, he looks forward to sharing his personal and scientific insights as we travel through this ancient land; the 'Cradle of Mankind'. The Orians have also planned a week extension to the south into Ethiopia's Rift Valley around Lake Langano and the Bale Mountain massif, hoping to spot the Ethiopian Wolf.

Ancient Aegean of Turkey and Greece
September 23-October 8, 2009
Wandering overland from Istanbul along the Sea of Marmara with our expert Turkish guide, Ozlem Ozgoren, this special group of Wildland travelers is returning to Turkey for the second time to explore in more depth the highlights of the Aegean coast. We visit the relatively unknown archaeological site of Clazomenae, one of twelve Ionian cities where our guide conducted research for her advanced studies. It is also near Ozlem's home village of Urla, where she will introduce us to local families, shopkeepers, fisherman and craft artisans, prior to our embarkation on a traditional gulet to sail through the Turkish and Greek Dedocenese Islands.
