When Bill and Jeri Crews decided to take their entire family to Tanzania to celebrate a special wedding anniversary, they had no idea that thankfulness would overflow and that lives would be changed.
|
"Matthew, our 17-year-old grandson, wrote after our trip to Tanzania, "I can't say how thankful I am… for you guys making the trip to Africa possible for me. I loved and enjoyed every single moment we spent in Tanzania and I
can honestly say that it was a life changing experience." |

travelers have the opportunity to experience the essence of a place before the rest of the world discovers it. Now is that time in Ethiopia—travelers can rise before the sun in Lalibela to observe priests in thoughtful early-morning
chants, gaze in wonder at priceless religious relics and stroll through the ancient obelisks at Axum. Alone.

Bestowed with the characteristics adventurers seek, Ethiopia offers ancient history entwined with living culture; the beauty of lakes, rivers and mountain peaks; and the serenity of few other travelers. Welcoming and warm, the Ethiopians
are eager to share their country, their treasures and their lives. We've designed a thoughtful itinerary that visits the highlights of Ethiopia and then goes one step further, taking you deep into the Simien Mountains for hiking based from
the comfortable Simien Eco-Lodge. Join us as we venture into the remote Horn of Africa, discovering a new destination in an ancient land.

Lyndsay Harshman
Program Director/ E. Africa
"A couple dozen steps take us deep into the red rocks and we're suddenly lost in the maze of subterranean Lalibela. Inside Bet Giyorgis, a shaft of warm light shines through the cross-shaped window and casts an ethereal glow on the
priest's face. Layers of rugs, clouds of Frankincense and soft candlelight fill the church as chants in the ancient Ge'ez language rise and fall. White-clad nuns clutching prayer beads come and go, folding at their waists in veneration.
The 20 or so stone churches of Lalibela are lost in time. It could easily be the 13th century here, and most of Ethiopia, for that matter. The nation was relatively unknown to outsiders well into the 19th century, and even now travelers
are of the more intrepid nature and few and far between."
