Oh, and how could I forget the airline loosing my luggage and shopping for underwear in the Zanzibar flea market with a local (male) Wildland assistant helping to bargain for me! Yes, yes, I'll share my wonderful, gather 'round the campfire adventure stories with Wildland! And I can't wait for the next "wild" adventure!!!!

 About Us
Wildland 20th Anniversary As we mark our 20th Anniversary of authentic worldwide explorations in 2007 we are proud of our past, still love what we're doing now, and excited about our plans for the future.

20 Years of AdventureA Look Back: 20 Years of Adventure Stories
Twenty years ago we set out to create more meaningful and authentic experiences in adventure travel that would support conservation and give back to local people. We are proud of our longstanding record of conservation and community development as a founding member of The International Ecotourism Society and the recipient of numerous environmental and professional tourism awards including the Conde Nast Green List and Top Costa Rica Travel Specialist. But most important are the enriching and life-changing experiences we've created for our travelers and the many communities we work with throughout the world.

The Present: Authenticity and Choice
Twenty years ago our travelers chose trips from a list of scheduled group departures to selected Wildland destinations. Today, planning your Wildland Adventure is collaborative endeavor. We offer you more diverse, more authentic and higher quality choices when planning your vacation, including custom independent travel services. We empower you to choose a personal experience that fits your style, interests, level of activity and travel dates. By sharing our specialized destination expertise we'll arm you with the information you need to reduce stress and eliminate confusion in trip planning.

The Future: Plan Ahead
The future we've been waiting for has arrived! Tourism market research confirms travel demand is way up. As the value of the Euro rises, Central America, South America and Africa are more popular than ever. Make your vacation plans farther in advance, at least a year or more Feeding a llama ahead if you are planning to travel during the Christmas-New Year's holiday, winter break, spring break, or summer vacation. Space is limited and fills up quickly in the specialized accommodations we use like boutique hotels, small African safari camps, first class yachts in Galapagos, and many exclusive rain forest lodges in Costa Rica, Belize and the Amazon. Permits for hiking the Inca Trail in Peru, the Milford Track in New Zealand, or to see gorillas in Uganda are now selling out a year in advance in peak periods. Also, airfares increase and availability of seats decrease as airlines reduce their capacity and travelers plan further in advance.
