When trekking permits on the popular Inca Trail ran out, the Ward family joined our alternate Inca Trail route on the Lares Sacred Valley Trek traversing the Vilcabamba Range through Quechua villages towards Machu Picchu.

"We loved going to the head horseman's house for guinea pig! We felt an intimate connection to the people and the mountains. They brought us into a part of their lives." |

latitudinal range of our Chile and Argentina Wildland Adventures! From the surreal Atacama Desert to the massive Patagonian Ice Cap at the southernmost tip of the Andes, our southern sojourns cover a vast range of landscapes and
habitats. Explore the rainforests of Iguazu Falls, hike and kayak in Tierra del Fuego National Park and the famous Lakes District. Further south, the Patagonian steppe and rich marine habitat of Peninsula Valdez beckon to
wildlife lovers, while the granite spires, alpine meadows and cobalt glaciers of Torres del Paine and Los Glaciares National Park comprise one of the most spectacular hiking regions of the world.
Join an active trekking itinerary into the heart of Patagonia at Mt Fitzroy and Torres del Paine. Or, follow the Wake of Magellan on the expedition ship
M/V Mare Australis. Accommodations include traditional estancias and mountain lodges, or luxury lodges such as
